Rachel was
born and raised in the city of
Tel Aviv Israel where she later
served two years in the Israeli
army in a kibbutz overlooking
the enchanting Sea of Galili.
She attended and graduated from
the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem in 1979 with a B.S. in
nursing. Rachel moved to
California in 1981 with her
husband yet still visits her
family in Israel
frequently.
Rachel
started pencil drawing and some
painting in 1992 while her kids
were attending art classes. This
rapidly developed into
fascination and obsession with
drawing and painting so she
started attending art classes
herself.
Rachel
lives in Northridge, California
and is married with two kids in
college. She spends most of her
free time painting, but also
enjoys listening to music and
reading.
Rachel’s
love of music has inspired her
to paint musicians playing their
instruments as well as singers
and dancers. She uses vibrant colors, bold brush strokes and
her imagination, to create the
figures and the energy in her
paintings.
Rachel is
influenced by the great
impressionistic and post
impressionistic artists, as well
as by her long time teacher and
mentor Renee Amitai.
Rachel is
an active member of The San
Fernando Valley Art Club (SFVAC),
and has presented her works in a
number of the club group shows,
as well as in private galleries.
