Delphia was born in Alexandria and raised in
Richmond, Virginia. On December 23, 2000, she received
her bachelor of fine arts in painting and printmaking from
Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked with wood,
plaster, clay, latex, welding, etching, screen printing,
lithography, three dimensional fabric collage, glazing
pottery, paper mache and oil paint, but prefers acrylic on
masonite, tattooing and performance. Over the past twelve
years she has worked as a freelance artist for individuals,
small businesses, Bar Management Groups, low budget movies,
a couple of theatres and a church. Delphia has work in
Japan, Italy, all over the United States and has performed
and shown in Germany. In 2002, Delphia moved to Los Angeles.
She has been showing her work on a consistent basis since
2005. Places she has shown include Cannibal Flower, The
Hive, Copro Nason, The Grind Gallery and Strychnin (Berlin).
She is influenced by all forms of experience and likes to
convey this in a representational and symbolic manner.
